Recently at Timbuktoons we’ve embarked on a big project. We have an animated concept we’ve been slowly developing for a few years but haven’t had adequate time to dedicate to it.
Enter struggling economy. We’ve suddenly had plenty of time to work on our concept. Now that we’ve been spending serious time on research and story development we’re realizing that it is a mountain sized task!
So, how do you move a mountain? With Faith (Matthew 17:20)…but usually “a little bit at a time”.
How do you…expand your ministry or business, get in shape, produce a 5 minute animated short (or full season of half hour episodes), develop a solid volunteer base, or any other monumental task?
It’s true that we can move mountains with our faith…but it usually happens a little bit at a time. It takes prayer, perseverance, and old fashioned hard work. With any vision driven goal, it’s 20% inspiration and 80% perspiration!
In Exodus 23:30, God gives the Israelites a list of instructions preparing to drive out the people currently living in the land promised to them. God said thru Moses, “I will drive them out a little at a time until your population has increased enough to take possession of the land.” Notice that God’s promise was to be fulfilled thru a process that took place “a little at a time.”
So if there is a seemingly insurmountable task before you, just take one shovel full at a time, being satisfied with the shovel full currently in your hand, trusting by faith that someday the whole mountain will be moved!
