Faith Vs. Uncertain Times

September 17, 2009

Matthew 16:8(b) “You have so little faith! Why are you arguing with each other about having no bread?”

Even after seeing God provide for our needs in amazing ways, these uncertain times and the daily grind can cause us to lose focus and revert to seeing our circumstances through the eyes of flesh instead of through the eyes of faith.

The disciples had seen Jesus multiply bread miraculously twice before but this time was different. Instead of having a few loaves to offer Jesus, this time they had none. The bread had been forgotten. The disciples began to argue and blame each other instead of turning to the One who created yeast and flour!

During these uncertain times let’s do a “gut check” and see if we might be limiting God by confining His abilities only to what we’ve seen Him do before. God does his greatest work in the darkest of times so let’s let His past faithfulness remind us that He can meet future needs in ways we have not even thought of!
