A blank piece of paper or computer screen can be creatively intimidating and/or invigorating. Which is it for you? It varies for me, but it always means something new is about to happen. Maybe it’s a design project, a devotional, a blog post or a craft project with the little ones. Sometimes it’s fun and sometimes its hard but I have learned to love the overall process even in the highs and lows.
Collages and scrapbooks have always intrigued and inspired me. I guess because it always seems to be a glimpse at our mysterious thought processes. Its like all the pieces give an overall sense of what we think or feel about something.
For our latest big project we started an inspiration wall. As I put up the blank pieces of paper (cheap and avoids holes!) I got that anticipating feeling that something new is afoot. I can’t wait to see the collage of quotes, photos, textiles, textures, articles, color schemes, objects, clippings, etc. that inspire and shape our direction for the project.
