School of Hard Knocks

Seven months after the launch of Timbuktoons we attended our first of many conferences. We shared 2 booths with 3 other ministries (Uncle Charlie, Keith Coast, and Jeremy Lee) and looked like a 3 ring circus (great memories and friendships were built on that trip!)

We ordered 3000 of our first product (who says I should have kept that money in my 401k? In this economy we’ve all had those widdled down to 201k’s by now anyway, haha). We took 1000 DVDs to the conference and sold a grand total of…. (drum roll please) 17!

Here’s a funny little sketch of Sean Copley (our amazing Creative Director…and fellow survivor of that first conference) and myself that I threw together on day 3 hoping to generate some sympathy buys! Lessons learned, friendships formed, perseverance developed!
